Continuing Professional Development - applying best practice
The migration profession is driven by complex and constantly changing legislation, wrapped in an ever-evolving web of case law and, fortunately, strengthened by experienced migration agents. A migration professional needs to be able to combine the best of academic thinking with the best of practical experiences. To this end, we see our CPD program as the primary vehicle to maintain professional knowledge at the highest possible level, to support members in a changing professional environment and to lead change towards best practice.
The objectives for the 2010 CPD program are to:
- + Deliver innovative programs developed and presented by a range of recognised experts
- + Provide quality resources designed to support each activity and to act as an ongoing reference
- + Embrace interactive learning methodologies
- + Create dynamic forums for the exchange of knowledge, insights and experiences
- + Focus on the practical application of concepts
- + Work closely with stakeholders and colleagues to solve real issues
- + Develop and expand every participant’s learning and peer support networks
- + Allow participants the opportunity to respond to content
- + Broaden our national team of presenters and developers
- + Keep participants up to date with all current government and relevant external authority perspectives
Genuine Continuing Professional Development is a commitment to keep up-to-date with constant changes and enhance professional standards through ongoing learning. Highly professional and committed migration agents go above minimum CPD requirements; they appreciate and value the sharing of professional knowledge and ideas throughout the year.
