Lecture Series - ideas, information, issues

The Australian Centre for Migration Education and Research will launch a regular lecture series in 2010. In this series, academics and practitioners at the forefront of migration research will present the latest information and analysis on topics of interest to the migration profession.

Australian Migration Studies - enquiry, analysis, opinion

Australian Migration Studies, a refereed journal, will be launched at the MIA's Migration 2010 Conference. The journal, published regularly by the MIA's Australian Centre for Migration Education and Research, will contain high quality research and analysis relating to migration to Australia. It will be a valuable reference for all migration practitioners, policy-makers and others wishing to stay informed about the issues and trends affecting the profession.

Research - trends, facts and figures

The Centre will lead a number of key research projects in 2010. These include an independent qualitative survey of migration agents' clients, with the aim of further understanding the value of the profession to Australia's migrant people, and a collaborative project with the University of Sydney investigating the migration experience of young people. The Centre will initiate and support other research projects relating to migration throughout the year. Areas being explored include employment outcomes of the migration program, and the role of migration in building and sustaining regional areas.
